DeBordieu Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Tourney Under Way
There’s an air of excitement building around the DeBordieu Golf Club as pros and players finish up their practice rounds for the 2011 DeBordieu Club Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Tournament to benefit the SC Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Sponsored by Adams Golf, in memory of Lee Shortt and Frances Pruiett, the tournament was a huge success last
year and is looking like it will be another home run for the charity.
Many current and former pros from
the PGA Tour and others were
recruited to participate at DeBordieu including:
and from the LPGA Futures Tour, Lauren Hunt.
DeBordieu also welcomes area professionals Donald Clement from the Reserve, Shelley Kenney from Wachesaw, Charles Frost and Kevin Reardon from Quail Hollow Country Club in Charlotte, and Bob Byrnes from Hope Valley Country Club in Durham, NC. Rounding out the field of pros are DeBordieu Club Professionals Shawn Roper, Matt Williams, and Amie Philo.
Proceeds from this event go to South Carolina Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which is to assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease.
DeBordieu Colony is an oceanfront community located just south of Pawleys Island, South Carolina featuring private golf and tennis, saltwater creek access to the ocean, a manned security gate, and luxury homes and villas surrounded by thousands of acres of wildlife and nature preserves.
